The Dragon is the mightiest of the signs. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition, and are very helpful. Dragons are known for their charming, colorful personalities, but they prefer to be alone. Although independent in nature, dragons will commit to one person for life when they find the right partner. They are most compatible with those born in the year of the monkey or rat.
  • Chinese New Year is the most important of all traditional Chinese holidays. The date is based on the lunisolar calendar, and the animal zodiac cycle lasts 12 years.
  • Oranges and tangerines are symbols of abundant happiness, and eaten at the start of the New Year.
  • Sweeping and dusting should not be done on New Years Day, for fear that good fortune will be swept away.
  • Tradition includes reconciliation; forgetting all grudges, and wishing peace and happiness for everyone.
